Iberia Launches Newark & Toronto Service
Beginning March 29, Iberia will introduce new nonstop service from Madrid to Newark (EWR), complementing its existing JFK operations and enhancing options for travelers in the Tri-State Area. Additionally, the airline will launch a new route to Toronto (YYZ) on June 13, further strengthening transatlantic connectivity. With Madrid as a strategic hub, passengers traveling from North and Latin America benefit from seamless onward connections across Spain, Europe, and beyond.
Early this winter, Iberia had launched new direct routes from Madrid to Fortaleza (FOR) and Recife (REC), reinforcing its strong presence and leadership in the Brazilian market.
Alaska Airlines Expands West Coast–Europe Service
Alaska Airlines will launch its first transatlantic route from Seattle (SEA) to Rome (FCO) on April 28, 2026. This will be followed in May by Seattle to London Heathrow (LHR) and Seattle to Reykjavik (KEF), the latter operating as a seasonal summer service.
These new routes give U.S. West Coast travelers more direct, daily options to Europe, making it easier to plan shorter, convenient trips this summer.
Aeroméxico Reopens Mexico City–Barcelona Route
Aeroméxico resumes nonstop flights between Mexico City and Barcelona starting 28 March 2026, with six weekly frequencies on its Boeing 787 fleet. This will strengthen transatlantic connectivity makes it easier for travelers to reach Spain ahead of the summer season. Travel advisors can use this route to create Spain and Latin America packages for clients flying from the US or Mexico.
